Very interested in this build as its more my size and something I may do myself. Are the racks using lap joints and glued.Are the racks free standing? No ties to shed sides. What size of tanks are you using?

Hey Merlin,

The racks are just butt fitted and screwed together, they are sturdy and fit for purpose but could be better. I haven't gone over board on them as I want to get new tanks in bigger sizes as time goes on but still unsure on what sizes, so the rack sizes will have to be changed.

The tank sizes I'm going with for now are two 48x18, six 30x18 and two 20x18.

Hello again. In your posts you show 2 photographs of the racks, both look like you have constructed them different. Any reason. Was it weight?

It was the same rack just half completed

Day six of the build

Yay, both racks are finally in and I'm now all ready for the rest of the tanks which should make there way into the shed tomorrow.

Day seven of the build

And what a bloody mess lol!!! The electrics are all but properly installed and all the tanks apart from one are in, nearly there aye!

Amazing progress for only 7 days. Wish I could be so industrious.

I'm well into year two of my fish-room revamp and I've still got temporary solutions left, right and centre. And today I did a bit more work to my living-room display tanks - started on those five years ago.
